Lead Product Manager for Spotify Connect integration on the Sonos platform.
This project was key to the Sonos strategy of being the platform for the connected home. We heard from our mutual users that not everyone wanted to stay in the Sonos app as Spotify was constantly updating and improving upon their native experience.
Building this functionality to suit both platforms was a collaborative effort between Spotify and Sonos, in the end creating a seamless experience where Spotify users can play their music straight from the Spotify app to their Sonos system.
Users are able to connect, group and change volume on their Sonos system from the Spotify app. The two apps stay in sync to make for a cohesive experience. Spotify Connect stays persistent for as long as the user needs so they can pick up their session anytime just by pressing play on their Sonos.
